We are Gay Male Black (GMB), a website designed for gay black men to share ideas about love and relationships, focusing on cultural sensitivity, a secure and inclusive environment, and an engaging, user-friendly interface.
Design Aesthetic & Visuals
Culturally Relevant Imagery:
We try to use high-quality, authentic images featuring diverse Black gay men in positive and healthy contexts to foster a sense of belonging and representation.
Warm and Inviting Color Palette:
We also try to employ a sophisticated yet warm color palette (e.g., deep tones of merlot, navy, cream, or gold) rather than relying solely on the rainbow motif, which can seem generic. This helps create an emotionally resonant space.
Clean and Uncluttered Layout:
We use ample white space and a clean layout to ensure the content is the main focus and the site feels modern and professional.
Subtle Inclusivity:
Instead of overt, generic "gay-friendly" symbols, integrate inclusive design naturally throughout the site, such as through diverse photography and thoughtful content.
